Kit Kjølhede Laursen was born in 1969 on the west coast of Denmark, in a small town called Lemvig - aka the 'dimple' of the west coast due to its picturesque location. Since growing up in Lemvig, a mixture of studies, work and coincidences has brought her to Dublin, Boston, Paris, Montréal, Warsaw and Copenhagen, where she currently lives.
Kit holds a master degree in international business and languages (English and French). Having spent a total of seven years abroad, she now runs her own business in Denmark and works as a free-lance consultant for, among others, the Trade Council of Denmark (part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs). She is also a writer (books, articles and more) and makes cartoons for Focus Denmark, a Ministry publication.
She has studied art with Else Ploug Isaksen at the Aarhus Academy of Art and not least with Bjørn Ignatius Øckenholt in Copenhagen.
Kit is a co-founder of the artist association Udgangspunkt and shares the art studio PRAG 61 with 17 other artists in Copenhagen.
Check out what two of the Danish national newspapers wrote about Kit in connection with her birthday: Politiken and Berlingske (yes, afraid it's in Danish, but there's a little pic!).
